When I try to open PDF file directly from browser, it fails and I get this error message:
There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat/Reader. If it is running, please exit and try again. (1014:1014)
Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe and right click Acrobat Reader DC. Pick Properties, navigate to Security tab. Click Edit and add permission for “ALL APPLICATION PACKAGES” to Read & execute. This resolved my issues.
How did it break in the first place? My theory is the Acrobat Reader was installed on Windows 7 and then when I upgraded the computer to Windows 10, needed permissions were not correctly set in the process.
